The combined Annual and Sustainability Report respond to the increasing need for sustainability information, as well as the increasing regulation regarding sustainability reporting. The Sustainability Report covers the most important information on environmental, social, and governance matters according to the ESG classification. The Sustainability Report describes how Metsä Board has advanced towards its ambitious sustainability targets for 2030 and which measures have been implemented and will be implemented in the coming years to achieve the targets. The report also includes reporting on climate risks according to the TCFD recommendations, as well as SASB reporting for the pulp and paper products industry. The key sustainability information has been assured by PricewaterhouseCoopers Oy at the limited assurance level.

The financial statements are published according to the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF) reporting requirements as an XHTML file in English and Finnish. The main calculations and notes of the consolidated financial statements are marked with the XBRL markup. The audit firm KPMG Oy Ab has provided an independent limited assurance report regarding the ESEF financial statements prepared by Metsä Board. The assurance engagement has been carried out in accordance with the ISAE 3000 (revised) assurance engagements standard.
