In October 2021, Metsä Board received an overall ESG Risk Rating of 15.2 and is considered by Sustainalytics to be at low risk of experiencing material financial impacts from ESG factors.
Sustainalytics’ ESG Risk Ratings scores are divided into five categories ranging from Negligible (score 0–10) to Severe (40+). Scores between 10–20 are in the low-risk category.
In July 2021 Metsä Board’s ESG performance was rated “Advanced” in a VigeoEiris ESG assessment.
In 2021 Metsä Board achieved a general grade of B (on a scale of E to A) in the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's Circulytics assessment. Metsä Board also won the Finnish Circular Economy Award and the Finnish Quality Award following an evaluation conducted by Laatukeskus Excellence Finland.
