Sustainability data and reporting

We monitor the development of sustainability from an environmental, social and financial perspective, both in-house and in our supply chain.

Metsä Board's annual sustainability information is compiled in the Sustainability statement, which is published as part of the Annual Review. The Sustainability statement is prepared in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) referred to in Chapter 7 of the Accounting Act and Article 8 of the Taxonomy Regulation.  Separately published annexes include SASB content index and disclosures in accordance with the TCFD and TNFD recommendations.

The Sustainability Review summarises annually Metsä Board’s key sustainability topics and achievements, drawing on information from the Sustainability statement and presenting it in a more concise and customer-oriented format. See the Sustainability Review 2024. The review for 2025 will be published in March 2026.

Metsä Board’s Climate transition plan presents our strategic ambition and governance on climate matters, as well as our investments and climate actions related to production, products and the value chain.

The factsheets focus on sustainability-related topics such as forest certification and carbon calculations in a simple and objective way, while our paper profiles describe the composition and key environmental parameters of individual paperboard products.

The environmental, social and governance (ESG) presentations and the documents covering corporate governance and remuneration are developed primarily for investors and other capital market representatives.
