The types of personal data we collect

We collect certain personal data about you. “Personal data” is any data that can be used to identify you directly or indirectly.

We collect personal data that you or your employer provides to us when doing business with us, when you request us to send you marketing materials, newsletters or other materials; and when you sign up for events or participate in competitions. The data we collect depends on whether you are our customer, supplier or other stakeholder, but in most cases include at least your name, postal address, e-mail address, language preference, job title and business affiliations.

In some cases your personal data has been supplemented by information retrieved from other sources, including public authorities, searches via publically available search engines, sector-specific newsletters, social media and your employer’s website.

How we process the collected personal data

We use the personal data we collect to carry out and develop business with you or the company you represent, to send you newsletters, marketing materials, invitations to events and for other legitimate reasons which have been described in more detail in our Privacy Statements.

We do not sell, distribute or otherwise make your personal data available to third parties. However, we may share information with our service providers or other suppliers e.g. for the provision of ICT, marketing or other services.

Only the people who need to process personal data in their job role have access to your personal data.

Your rights

You have the right to know what personal data we process about you and may request a copy. You are also entitled to have incorrect personal data corrected and request us to delete your personal data. In certain situations you can also object to personal data processing. It is important to understand that the limitation or deletion of your personal data may mean that we are unable to continue our business relations with you as today. You also have the right to receive your personal data in a machine-readable format and have the data transferred to another party responsible for data processing. If you are dissatisfied with how we process your personal data, you are entitled to report this to the Finnish data protection authority.
