Metsä Board has terminated its credit rating agreement with S&P Global Ratings and requested the agency to withdraw its credit rating.

The company has determined that a credit rating from a single rating agency is sufficient to support Metsä Board’s financing and access to capital markets. The decision is also aligned with the company’s ongoing transformation programme and efforts to reduce costs  and simplify operations.

At the time of the request, S&P Global Ratings' credit rating for Metsä Board is BBB- with a negative outlook.

Metsä Board will continue to be rated by Moody's Ratings, which currently rates the company Baa3 with a negative outlook.
