Metsä Board is investing in the finishing operations at its Kemi mill by modernising the board machine winder. The investment will be implemented during the annual maintenance shutdown in October–November 2026.

The investment further strengthens Metsä Board Kemi’s position as a world-leading supplier of coated white-top kraftliners by improving product quality, supply chain reliability and production efficiency.

“This winder modernisation strengthens our finishing operations and supports our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality products to our customers,” says Tomi Seppä, VP Kemi Board Mill. “At the same time, it improves operational stability and ensures dependable deliveries.”

Metsä Board Kemi has an annual production capacity of approximately 465,000 tonnes and is the world’s largest producer of coated white-top kraftliners. Its products are used as the top layer in corrugated packaging worldwide. The investment supports the mill’s role in the global supply chain by further strengthening its ability to serve customers with consistent quality and reliable deliveries.
