The day’s agenda will include an update on Metsä Board's business and operating environment as well as company’s strategy to grow in fibre-based packaging materials. Presentations are held by Metsä Board’s CEO; CFO; SVP, Sales and Supply Chain and SVP, Technology. In addition, Metsä Fibre’s CEO and Metsä Forest’s EVP will talk about the global pulp market and wood sourcing.

Metsä Board’s CEO Mika Joukio:

"Our strategy has proven its resilience and efficiency in a difficult and unpredictable operating environment and we will continue to implement it in a planned way – to grow sustainably in fibre-based packaging materials. In recent years, we have strengthened our global market position in premium fresh fibre paperboards and responded to the rapidly growing demand for recyclable packaging materials that are increasingly replacing plastics in our main markets in Europe and North America. Our future growth is based on world-class resource efficiency, excellent cost competitiveness and a lower carbon footprint of our products.

Metsä Board’s strong financial position together with high self-sufficiency in fibres and energy provide stability for our business in a volatile operating environment. Our decision making will continue to be guided by our financial and sustainability targets and the ambition to increase shareholder value sustainably with long-term perspective. Our financial targets for a minimum comparable return on capital employed of 12% and a maximum net debt/comparable EBITDA ratio of 2.5 remain unchanged. According to our dividend policy, we aim to pay a dividend of at least 50% of our net profit."
