The start-up of Metsä Group’s Joutseno pulp mill from the production shutdown that began in June will commence on Monday, 8 December 2025.

At Rauma pulp mill, a production curtailment shutdown of approximately one month will begin; the shutdown starts on Monday, 15 December 2025, and the restart will take place gradually by department from Wednesday, 7 January 2026.

“Through production shutdowns, we are adjusting our production to reflect the market demand for long-fibre softwood pulp. Since the market situation for softwood pulp is estimated to continue uncertain for the beginning of next year, we are preparing for significant production curtailments at Joutseno pulp mill also during 2026,” says Ismo Nousiainen, CEO of Metsä Fibre.
