Metsä Fibre will start change negotiations on possible layoffs of up to 90 days at the company's sawmills in Lappeenranta, Rauma, Renko and Vilppula.
The negotiations are prompted by challenging market conditions for sawn timber and harvesting, which have created a need for production downtime.
According to the estimate, if implemented, the planned measures could lead to the lay-off of all personnel at Metsä Fibre’s Lappeenranta, Rauma, Renko and Vilppula sawmills for a maximum of 90 days during 2026.
The change negotiations cover the entire staff of Lappeenranta, Rauma, Renko and Vilppula sawmills, approximately 350 people.
