Many site elements are now undergoing mechanical and electrical installation. Over 15,000 people have participated in the construction of the mill.
The next large components are now being transported from the port of Ajos. These special transports are coming by road and via the inland port of Kemi.
They include evaporator units, debarking drums and titanium towers. The largest pieces are the evaporator units, 15 metres wide and weighing 510 tonnes. At 65 metres, the reactor towers are the longest pieces.
The planning phase for the special transports has taken two years.
