Sustainability targets and progress

Metsä Fibre’s sustainability targets are based on Metsä Fibre’s strategy and Metsä Group’s strategic sustainability 2030 objectives.

The whole Metsä Group has been a signatory of the UN Global Compact since 2003 and Metsä Fibre, as part of the Metsä Group, is committed to contributing to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations strive for ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring human rights and prosperity for all.

Our sustainability themes and targets are aligned with reaching the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. From the 17 SDGs and their targets, we focus especially on eight goals to which we contribute the most through our operations.
