The Competition Authority has approved an arrangement whereby Metsä Fibre, part of Metsä Group, will integrate the maintenance functions of its production facilities into its own organisation as of 1 January 2023. Currently, the maintenance of the company's pulp mills and Rauma sawmill is outsourced to the maintenance company Oy Botnia Mill Service Ab, jointly owned by Metsä Fibre Oy and Caverion Industria Oy.

Metsä Fibre and Caverion agreed on the transfer of the maintenance operations on 16 May 2022. Related to the arrangement, Botnia Mill Service personnel who work at Metsä Fibre’s pulp mills, the Rauma sawmill, and administration and support functions (approximately 350 people in total) will transfer to the service of Metsä Fibre starting from 1 January 2023 through a transfer of business.
