Metsä Tissue has three mills in the Western European region which is currently impacted by the heavy flooding. Our Kreuzau and Düren mills’ operations in Germany have needed to be momentarily stopped due to the situation but the operations are now partially recovered.
We have been able to safeguard the situation in our mills so that no members of our personnel have been impacted and also material damages are minor.
However, the crisis in the region is impacting our employees and their families and we are offering our help to the local communities to support the region and the people in the recovery. We also want to express our deepest condolences to the families in the region and their losses in the crisis.
In terms of deliveries to our customers, we are trying to keep our commitments as much as possible and will update our customers about the situation. Some delays are anticipated due to damages impacting IT systems and infrastructure.
