“Estonian’s have used wood in construction for hundreds of years. It is in our nature. Wood is a lot more sustainable alternative, especially when compared to concrete and metal,” Tamm says. He added, that the development trends of modular construction are very interesting, and more developers are ready to work with wood.
The choice of materials is important in modular construction. “The quality and durability of the materials used are the most important things,” he said. “Kerto LVL – laminated veneer lumber – allows us to have better solutions, when it comes to construction technology. Kerto LVL has more stable dimensions than planed wood, and it has better structural stability,“ the producer of construction modules says.
