CE markings

The Construction Products Regulation (CPR) lays down harmonised rules for the marketing of construction products in the EU. The Regulation provides a common technical language to assess the performance of construction products.

The CPR applies and CE marking is mandatory to any construction product placed on the EU market, which is produced for permanent incorporation in construction works, including both buildings and civil engineering works, whether they are structural or not, and which are covered by a harmonised standard. CE marking is also possible for a product if a European Technical Assessment has been issued for it.

Manufacturer must draw up a Declaration of Performance (DoP) which provides information on the performance of a product, and affix a CE marking to the product, packaging or accompanying documents.

We have created a dedicated DoP database making it easier for our customers to find and download DoPs of Metsä Wood products. For access simply click DoP library.

For more background information on the CPR and CE marking, the official source of current information is the EU website.

UKCA marking

The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking, known as ‘new approach’ goods including construction products.

The UKCA marking came into effect on 1 January 2021. However, CE marking is accepted until 30 June 2025. CE marked Metsä Wood products are now also UKCA marked. UK Declaration of Conformity documents will be available on the website soon.
