Many forest owners want to protect a forest area that is valuable in terms of biodiversity or other aspects and do so on their own initiative. Protection can be for a fixed term or permanent. If you believe your forest is home to a valuable nature site, contact Metsä Group’s forest specialist to obtain further information about various ways to protect the area. Our local forest specialist helps owner-members to apply for environmental aid. The service is only available in Finland.

Request an offer on forest management from your local forest specialist. The forest specialist knows which forest management work needs to be carried out in your forest. Forest management includes for example the establishment of a new forest and young stand management. You can also request an offer in the Metsäverkko service. These services are only available in Finland.

Please contact your local forest specialist if you need advice on different protection methods. Local forest specialists help owner-members prepare applications for environmental subsidies. Our forest specialists receive support for environmental subsidy applications and other forest nature-related matters from our experts in forest nature management.

In addition, our network of METSO specialists covers all of Finland. Metsä Group’s METSO specialists provide assistance in questions concerning the METSO programme, or the forest biodiversity programme for Southern Finland. Among other things, METSO specialists have special knowledge about the criteria for sites approved for the protection programme. If you are interested in fixed-term or permanent protection, don’t hesitate to contact our local forest specialists.
