Double bonus on wood from forest thinning until the end of August

Wood is now in high demand. The good sales of forest industry products, our investments in the Rauma sawmill and Kemi bioproduct mill, as well as the halt in wood imports from Russia will increase our wood supply volume in Finland. We aim to purchase the additional volumes from our owner-members.

From 1 May to 31 August 2022, we will pay a double bonus on wood purchased from thinned stands. The double bonus will be paid for both log wood and pulpwood. As an owner-member, you can receive a bonus of up to EUR 2.80 per each cubic metre of wood you sell. Our contract customers will receive a double bonus retroactively for the wood they have sold from thinning sites during the price guarantee period ending at the end of May.

Now is a good time to put your forest into shape. Thinning is an important forestry measure in the production of high-quality log wood, as it leaves healthy, vigorous, and high-quality trees to grow in the forest. The increased growth space accelerates the development from pulpwood into more valuable log wood.

You can use your bonuses to pay for forest management services. If you wish to receive your bonuses in cash, you can do so in connection with your next wood trade. You can also invest the bonuses indicated on the measurement certificate in Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Metsä1 additional shares.

Boost the vitality of your forest and request an offer on wood trade from your forest specialist.
