Metsä Wood starts statutory labour negotiations at birch plywood mills in Finland

Metsä Wood, a part of Metsä Group, starts statutory labour negotiations at Suolahti and Punkaharju birch plywood mills. Negotiations concern the adaption of birch plywood production to the current market situation.

The negotiations include a plan to have layoffs at Punkaharju mill for a maximum of 75 days and at Suolahti mill for the time being. The needed layoffs are planned to take place during 2019.
