Ilkka Köntti has been appointed SVP, Production and a member of the management team at Metsä Group’s Wood Supply and Forest Services as of 1 September 2025.
He will be responsible for production management in wood supply and forest services, resourcing, harvesting, the implementation of forest management services, and wood and wood energy transports to customers.
Köntti has worked as a project and district manager at Metsä Group’s Wood Supply and Forest Services for four years. Before that, he worked for nearly 20 years in the forest sector, accumulating extensive experience at Stora Enso and a forest management association, for example.
Köntti will report to Juha Jumppanen, Metsä Group’s EVP, Wood Supply and Forest Services.
Hannu Alarautalahti, who has been SVP, Production at Metsä Group’s Wood Supply and Forest Services since 2014, will leave the company by mutual agreement on 30 September 2025.
