Investment in fresh fibre

Metsä Tissue, part of Metsä Group, has started full-scale production at its expanded and modernised tissue paper mill in Mariestad, Sweden. The €370 million investment doubles the mill’s annual tissue paper capacity to 145,000 tonnes, significantly strengthening the local supply of high-quality tissues, like Lambi, Serla, and Katrin products for both consumers and professional customers across Scandinavia.

The mill produces high-quality Lambi, Serla and Katrin tissue products for both consumer and professional use, and its capacity has now been doubled to 145,000 tonnes per year. The mill now have a new modern tissue paper machine with the capacity of 77,000 t/a, three new converting lines, for both rolled and folded tissues. Also a fully automated warehouse for finished goods and raw material handling has been built as well as a new office facilities.
