PRESS RELEASE 9.5.2025 AT 12.00 PM

Metsä Group's tissue paper business Metsä Tissue has completed the change negotiations initiated in March 2025 at its Mänttä mill concerning the discontinuation of recycled fibre production and the adjustment of production capacity. As a result of the negotiations, Metsä Tissue, in accordance with its strategy, will continue to invest into the mill's production equipment and focus on fresh fibre-based hygiene products by discontinuing the production of recycled fibre and closing one tissue paper machine. The estimate of the final number of redundancies is 7 employees. The redundancies are expected to be implemented in the first half of 2026. Persons under threat of dismissal are offered other work tasks within Metsä Group.

Metsä Tissue's Mänttä mill produces Serla, Lambi and Katrin tissue paper products and customers' own brands, as well as SAGA baking and cooking papers.
