Metsä Group Press Release 8 November 2013
Metsä Tissue, part of Metsä Group, will invest EUR 10 million in a new tissue consumer products converting line at the Mariestad mill in Sweden. The investment will further strengthen Metsä Tissue’s position and competitiveness in the European tissue market. The new highly-efficient production line will increase Mariestad mill’s converting capacity up to 80,000 tonnes per year and at the same time improve Metsä Tissue’s delivery reliability.
Metsä Tissue focuses on operating close to its customers. “Listening to consumers and understanding their needs form the basis for our product development. Consumers’ expectations on product quality are increasing all the time. The new converting line represents state-of-the-art tissue converting technology, which means we can produce the softest tissue qualities on the market,” says Mark Watkins, SVP, Tissue, Scandinavia.
The new line, supplied by Futura, will be taken to use in autumn 2014. The investment also includes the extension of the warehouse facilities at Mariestad.
