Through vocational training, Metsä Tissue will continue to secure its long-term need for skilled employees. Approximately 60 apprentices are employed at the three German mills. Simone Klein, VP Human Resources, emphasizes, "At Metsä, we want to offer young people a secure job in the paper industry. With us, they can pursue their careers without having to travel long distances to work in a company that operates internationally. Our sincere congratulations to our new professionals on this important career step. We look forward to a continued good cooperation."

The new talents will increase and refine their knowledge, skills and abilities in their respective specialist departments. A wide range of training courses will be available to them to support their professional development. They will also benefit from the experience of their colleagues, many of whom have been with the company for many years, sometimes with several family members.

One of the former trainees is Jessica Breuer, who successfully completed her industrial clerk training in the Product Offering department and is now part of the team. Parallel to her apprenticeship, she has started further training to become a state-certified business economist. She says: “Metsä offers me the opportunity to develop and the flexible working hours allow me to easily balance work and studies. Metsä offers 30 vacation days, a collective agreed pay plus a performance bonus and many other benefits, including a fitness cooperation with Metsä Tissue and Metsä Greaseproof Papers. It enables me to take advantage of more than 50 different sports and wellness offers, which I use regularly. In addition, we at Metsä have a good team spirit, which is reinforced, for example, by an annual sports day for all Metsä Tissue and Metsä Greaseproof Papers employees in Germany.”

Metsä Tissue has received the Top Employer Germany award in 2023 for the third year in a row. Metsä believes that motivated, satisfied and healthy, employees are one of the company's success factors and invests in the professional development of its employees as well as their well-being and safety at work.
