ESPOO, Finland – 6.2.2026

Following the appointment of a new management team in December 2025, Metsä Tissue is planning to align its organisation to match the new function-led management model, to optimize capacity utilization and support growth. Greaseproof Papers business is not in scope of the planned changes.

This organisational alignment requires statutory negotiation processes in all of the company's European operating countries. No mill closures are planned.

"This organisational change would strengthen our ability to serve customers effectively while maintaining our commitment to operational excellence," said Sari Pajari-Sederholm, CEO of Metsä Tissue.

Metsä Tissue employs approximately 2,400 people globally. According to preliminary assessments, the planned measures may lead to a permanent reduction of approximately 50 positions across Metsä Tissue's operating countries. Final decisions will be made following completion of statutory negotiation processes.
