This is our tissue's journey to you

In the forest

  • Full traceability of wood raw material
  • 88% from certified forests (2024)
  • 100% of the tree used

Our wood fibre mainly comes from certified or controlled northern forests and does not contain wood from natural forests or old-growth forests. Every part of the tree is efficiently utilized in Metsa Group's value chain, without waste. Metsä Group continuously contributes to regenerative forestry through training and cooperation with our forest owners. Equally requiring its wood suppliers and contractors to comply with sustainability principles as part of their contracts, right from the beginning of the supply chain. To protect both your and our business.

Metsä Group - About Regenerative Forestry

During production

  • Fossil-free mills by 2030
  • Resource-efficient production
  • Renewable raw material

Since 2018, Metsä Tissue has had a target to achieve fossil-free mills by 2030 by reducing Scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emissions to zero. And we have made significant progress towards this target.

Metsä Tissue, Science Aligned GHG Targets

On the way

  • Production close to our markets
  • Minimised transport routes
  • Reduced CO₂ emissions

Production close to customers. The majority of our tissue paper is produced within 500 km of where we will ship it. This significantly reduces carbon emissions in transport. High-performance products also mean reduced consumption and thus lower transportation needs.

At your location

  • Lower consumption
  • Less waste
  • Less maintenance

When you choose our products, like our highly absorbent tissue paper or efficient foam soap, you’ll use less, waste less, and reduce labor. And it does not end there; our robust dispensers have recyclable plastic parts, and with our Freedom of Choice dispensers, you don’t need to replace them when you switch paper type.
