Metsä Spring’s Muoto packaging has achieved success in a major international packaging competition. The Muoto Twin Uncoated Fibre Series, developed for serving and takeaway use, has been selected as a winner in the Food category of the WorldStar 2026 Awards.
The WorldStar Awards is organised annually by the global packaging organisation WPO. This year, the competition received 481 entries from 36 countries. The winners were selected by an international panel of 48 judges representing WPO member organisations. Metsä Spring will receive the award in May in Düsseldorf, Germany, at the Awards gala held in connection with the Interpack packaging trade fair.
Metsä Spring’s Product Manager Tarja Heikkilä is delighted with the recognition.
“Following our ScanStar success, we are proud that Muoto Twin Uncoated Fibre Series has now been acknowledged in the global WorldStar competition, which sets the international benchmark for packaging innovation and sustainability,” says Heikkilä.
“Finnish packaging innovations reach the WorldStar competition by first gaining recognition in the Nordic ScanStar competition, so this new award is yet another significant milestone for our Muoto team and our partners,” she concludes.
The Muoto Twin Uncoated Fibre Series is designed for takeaway packaging and disposable tableware. The Muoto products are made from wood fibre sourced from Nordic forests. The food-safe Muoto Twin Uncoated Fibre Series is plastic free, contains no added PFAS compounds, and is suitable for a wide variety of end uses.
