The Representative Council is the highest decision making body of Metsäliitto Cooperative. Today it comprises 62 members, all forest owners. The members of the Representative Council are elected for four years by a postal ballot. The meeting of the Representative Council is comparable to the shareholders' meeting of a limited liability company.
The Supervisory Board comprises 30 members elected by the Representative Council and four members elected by Metsäliitto Cooperative's personnel. The Supervisory Board supervises that Metsäliitto Cooperative is managed in accordance with the rules and the decisions of the Representative Council and the Supervisory Board.
Metsäliitto Cooperative's Board of Directors consists of eight members elected among the members of Metsäliitto Cooperative as well as Metsäliitto's President and CEO. The Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring that Metsäliitto Cooperative's and Metsä Group's operations and administration are appropriately arranged and in accordance withe the decisions of the Representative Council and the Supervisory Board.
Metsä Group's Executive Management Team is chaired by the President and CEO. The Management Team assists the President and CEO in business planning and prepares proposals to the Board of Directors.
